After any CBC Guides paper, challenge or countdown set, tap “Open the report” and this page turns the marks into a one-page plan: the topics where your child scored AE or BE, what that means in plain words, three steps to fix each one, and practice questions on that exact topic. Print it for the fridge or send it to your phone on WhatsApp.
How to Read the Report
The report sorts every topic on the paper by how your child did on it, using the four CBC levels:
- EE, Exceeding Expectation (75–100%) and ME, Meeting Expectation (41–74%) go under “Doing well”. Keep them warm with normal practice.
- AE, Approaching Expectation (21–40%) means some of the skill is there, but it falls apart under pressure. These topics usually improve fastest.
- BE, Below Expectation (0–20%) means the basics aren’t there yet. Start these with your help, from the beginning.
“Revise first” lists the weakest topics at the top. If a topic had only one or two questions on the paper, treat it as a hint rather than a verdict. One wrong answer can be a slip. Check it with a second paper before spending a whole week on it.
A Simple Revision Routine
Pick one topic from the top of the list each day, not all of them. Spend 15 to 20 minutes on it:
- Look at the questions your child got wrong on that topic and find the exact step that went wrong. Was it the method, a careless slip or a word they didn’t understand?
- Work through one example together. Then let your child try a similar question alone.
- Tap “Practise now” on the report for questions on the same topic, marked instantly.
A week later, sit a fresh paper and open a new report. Topics moving from BE to AE, or from AE to ME, are real progress, even before the overall score changes. Topics that stay strong count towards your child’s topic badges.
Free Report and Full Report
The free report shows the two weakest topics in full, with the plan and practice questions from our free question bank. With the free 7-day trial or a Pass, the report lists every AE and BE topic, and the practice also draws on questions from the full revision papers for that grade. There’s no card or M-Pesa needed for the trial. You can see the plans on the pricing page.
Your Child’s Results Stay With You
The report is built inside your browser from the link itself. The results travel in the part of the link after the “#”, which browsers don’t send to websites, so CBC Guides never receives or stores the report. When you share it on WhatsApp, anyone with that link can open the same report, so share it only with people you trust, such as the other parent or the class teacher.
Starting points: the exam countdown for Grade 6 and Grade 9, the CBC Challenge for Grades 4 to 9, or a full revision paper.
