Mambrui Secondary School is in Mambrui, near Malindi in Kilifi County. It opened in 2004 and is described on its website as “a project of Mambrui Secondary School Education Trust”. It stands on land belonging to the Sheikh Salim Khalfan family, next to Mambrui Primary School, which was built in 1910. It admits Grade 10 learners under CBC, as well as Form 3 and Form 4 students under 8-4-4, and its fee structure lists boarding fees. The 2026 fee structure does not list a bank account or paybill. Contact the school directly before paying (P.O. Box 822, Malindi; tel. 0714 680 785, as printed on the document) and pay only into an account the school confirms in writing.
How It Compares
Mambrui’s Grade 10 fee of KSh 78,000 a year, including boarding, is the lowest of the private senior schools we have checked (private CBC school fees). It is still above the KSh 53,554 maximum a public boarding senior school may charge under Gazette Notice No. 1449 of 2026, and the KSh 40,535 lower ceiling. Public day schools charge nothing (senior school fees 2026). Unlike public senior schools, where tuition is covered by government capitation, Mambrui charges a tuition fee.
