M.M. Shah and M.V. Shah Academy is a private day school in Mombasa. Its CBC section runs from Baby Class to Junior School (Grade 9). The school publishes its 2026 fees on its Admissions and Fees page rather than in a PDF, and every figure here is taken from that page. This article is accurate as of October 2026.

Junior School is unusual in one way: tuition is the same in all three terms, so Term 3 is only slightly cheaper (lunch is lower). Each grade costs KSh 15,000 a year more than the one before.

Grades 5 and 669,30069,30036,400175,000

The primary totals are built from three lines:

  • Grades 1–3: tuition (54,000 for Grades 1–2, 56,400 for Grade 3 in Terms 1 and 2, half that in Term 3), break fees of 4,000 per term (3,000 in Term 3) and lunch of 6,500 per term (4,000 in Term 3).
  • Grades 4–6: tuition (56,400 for Grade 4 and 58,800 for Grades 5–6, half in Term 3) and lunch of 10,500 per term (7,000 in Term 3). No break fee is listed from Grade 4.

From Nursery to Grade 6, Term 3 tuition is exactly half of Terms 1 and 2. Baby Class pays the same in all three terms. We checked every column, and the published totals add up.

One-Off Charges

ItemKShNote
Admission fee5,000Non-refundable; secures a place for a first-time entrant
Caution fee5,000Refundable when the learner leaves, less any dues

What the Fee Does Not Include

  • All stationery.
  • Class trip expenses.
  • Entrance fees for external sports competitions.
  • School and sports uniforms.

The school also says that transport services are currently suspended, so plan your own drop-off. Fees are reviewed every two years.

Admission Steps

The page lists six steps: register at the school, sit an assessment in selected subjects, complete an admission form after a successful assessment, pay the admission and caution fees, pay the full school fees, then start. Office hours are 8:00 am to 4:00 pm.

How to Pay

  • Bank of Baroda, Kizingo branch, account 95820100005332, M.M. Shah & M.V. Shah Academy.
  • Co-operative Bank, Digo Road branch, account 01129679280700.
  • M-Pesa paybill 154195; account: the child’s admission number, name and class.

Full fees are paid as part of enrolment. Confirm the account with the school (0733 177 333 or 0719 592 021) before a large transfer.

A First-Year Example

A new Grade 7 learner pays KSh 193,000 + 5,000 admission + 5,000 caution = KSh 203,000, before stationery, uniform and transport. A new Grade 1 pupil pays KSh 173,000 on the same basis. This is our arithmetic.

How It Compares

Public primary and junior schools charge day learners no tuition. Junior schools are funded through capitation (JSS fees and capitation). In Mombasa, compare this school with Light Academy Mombasa, whose Grade 7 tuition alone is about KSh 266,500 a year. For other cities, see private CBC school fees, and plan for the excluded items with hidden CBC costs. All checked schools are on the fees hub.
