Lukenya Boys is a private, boys-only full boarding secondary school in Athi River, Machakos County. It is part of Lukenya Schools, which also runs Lukenya Girls High School, Lukenya Community School and a British-curriculum academy. Its “Senior Secondary School Fee Structure 2026” covers the school’s first CBC Grade 10 class. Figures below come from that document (Lukenya Boys senior school fee structure 2026, PDF), uploaded in December 2025. An earlier upload from November 2025 also exists, so make sure you use the latest version. This page is accurate as of October 2026.

What a Year Costs

For a new Grade 10 boy with no optional extras: 382,500 (127,500 × 3) + 15,000 subscriptions (5,000 × 3) + 20,000 admission + 10,000 activity + 1,500 insurance + 5,000 medical + 30,000 laptop = KSh 464,000 in the first year. That is our arithmetic. Uniform, shopping and travel are not listed on this document and come on top. If you pay early and in full every term, the 5% discount on tuition and boarding (below) would save about KSh 19,125 over the year.

How to Pay

  • Bank: Co-operative Bank, Athi River branch, account 01120065233800, account name LUKENYA BOYS SCHOOL. This can be paid at any Co-op branch. For international transfers, the sort code is 11 and the SWIFT code KCOOKENA.
  • M-Pesa: paybill 400222. The account is 15695# followed by the student’s name, for example 15695#TeddyJumaF3 as given on the document.
  • Only a banker’s cheque or cash banked is accepted. The school does not accept cash, instalments or personal cheques.

Payment Terms

  • Fees are payable in full on or before opening day. The document states that no instalments are accepted.
  • 5% discount on tuition and boarding for parents who pay in full by the 15th of each holiday month.
  • 5% interest per month on any amount outstanding more than 30 days after the term begins.
  • Fees are subject to change without notice and are non-refundable.

How Lukenya Compares With Public Boarding Schools

A public boarding senior school may charge parents at most KSh 53,554 a year under Gazette Notice No. 1449 of 2026. Public schools must also offer documented instalment plans and may not send learners home over boarding fee arrears (senior school fees 2026). Lukenya’s single-term fee of KSh 127,500 is more than twice the public annual ceiling. Its “no instalments” rule and 5% monthly interest are much stricter than the public-school rules, so plan cash flow before accepting a place.

The laptop charge is a typical example of the device costs CBC senior schools are starting to add (see hidden CBC costs). Among private schools we have checked, Lukenya sits in the middle of the range (private CBC school fees). In the same county, see Blessed Assurance Academy in Syokimau. More schools are in the fees hub.
