Potterhouse School is a private Christian international school in Nairobi with a British curriculum. The junior school is on Runda Close, off Runda Road; the senior school is on Glory Road, off Kiambu Road. Year groups run from Crèche through Year 13 and do not map one-to-one onto CBC grades. Potterhouse posts a Fee Structure Academic Year 2026/2027 (September–August) (PDF) on its admissions page. Every figure below comes from that sheet. Accurate as of October 2026.

Lunch is marked optional on the sheet. Caution is paid once and is refundable if one term’s written notice is given. Years 11–13 are billed in two instalments (not three terms); two billings of KSh 449,565 equal KSh 899,130 a year in tuition before lunch.

For Year 9 the caution is KSh 31,500; for Year 10 it is also KSh 31,500 on the sheet. Years 11–13 share the KSh 49,000 caution line.

Other Compulsory and Optional Charges

  • Application fee: KSh 3,000, once, non-refundable.
  • Admission fee: KSh 12,000, once, non-refundable.
  • Medical emergency fee: KSh 4,500 per year.
  • Activity fee: KSh 2,250 per term.
  • Clubs: KSh 12,500 per term.

Optional activities on the sheet include horse riding (KSh 3,000 a term), dolphin sessions (KSh 7,500–21,000 depending on package), individual music lessons (KSh 15,000) and an elite soccer programme (KSh 6,000–12,000). Daily tuition rates are also listed for short stays (Crèche KSh 2,500 a day up to KSh 6,500 for primary and high school).

Transport (Junior and Senior), per Term, KSh

Both campuses use eight distance bands. Sample junior-school termly rates:

719.1–22 km87,80593,205
822.1–25 km99,255104,655

Senior-school zones use the same shilling amounts in the bands we checked. Inter-campus transport is KSh 13,000 a term (KSh 300 a day). The sheet lists named estates under each zone (Runda, Rosslyn, Ruaka, Westlands, Karen-side areas and further out). Match your estate on the PDF, or ask the school. Sheet slip: Zones 4 are labelled “Temly Rates” instead of “Termly Rates” on both junior and senior pages — a typo only, the figures are clear.

Discounts, Penalties and How to Pay

  • Early payment: 3% off tuition when fees are paid in full before the term begins.
  • Sibling discount on tuition: 5% (2nd child), 7.5% (3rd), 10% (4th), 12.5% (5th). Transport siblings get 15% off.
  • Bounced cheque: KSh 3,500 plus the amount outstanding.
  • Deadlines: pay by the first week of the term. Fees once paid are not refundable. Cash is not accepted.

Bank: Co-operative Bank of Kenya, account name Potterhouse School Ltd, account 01129150950900, Gigiri Mall branch, SWIFT KCOOKENA. M-Pesa paybill 842028, account = learner’s name. Receipts are emailed.

Two First-Year Examples

A new Year 1 day pupil with lunch: (194,200 + 23,825) × 3 + 3,000 application + 12,000 admission + 20,500 caution + 4,500 medical + 2,250 × 3 activity = KSh 704,575 (our sum, before clubs and transport).

A new Year 7 day pupil with lunch: (273,085 + 27,950) × 3 + 3,000 + 12,000 + 29,000 + 4,500 + 6,750 activity ≈ KSh 958,355. Add Zone 2 two-way transport (KSh 43,095 × 3 = KSh 129,285) and the year climbs past KSh 1.08 million.

How It Compares

Potterhouse is mid-pack among Nairobi British-curriculum day schools on this hub once you add lunch and the smaller termly charges. More schools are on the fees hub.
