Rose of Sharon Academy is a private Christian day school on Kabarnet Road, off Ngong Road, in Nairobi. It runs two curricula: the CBE (CBC), from Playgroup to Grade 9, and the Cambridge International Curriculum, from Stage 1 to Stage 12. This page covers the Cambridge stream, using the school’s Cambridge International Curriculum 2026–2027 fee structure (PDF) for the September 2026 to July 2027 year. You can find it on the school’s fee structure page. This page is accurate as of October 2026.

Why we have left out the CBE fees. The school also posts a CBE sheet, labelled “2026” in its file name. The sheet itself carries no year. Its tuition figures, such as KSh 86,200 a term for Grade 1, are identical to those already in circulation for 2024. We can’t tell from the document whether those are the current fees, so we won’t publish them as 2026 figures. CBE parents should ask the school for a dated fee structure. We will add the CBE stream when one is published.

Stage 12225,000300,000225,000750,000

On this sheet the January term (Term 2) is the dearest, about 4% above Terms 1 and 3. Stage 12 is the outlier: KSh 300,000 in Term 2 against KSh 225,000 in the other terms. The sheet doesn’t explain either pattern, so a Stage 12 family should ask what the extra KSh 75,000 covers. The sheet also prints no yearly totals, so the last column is our own sum.

The Cambridge annual charges are accident cover KSh 1,500, an activity fee of KSh 5,000 and the digital platform at KSh 4,950. Books cost KSh 10,000 a year for Stage 1, KSh 15,000 for Stages 2–4 and KSh 20,000 for Stages 5–9. They rise to KSh 25,000 for Stages 10–11 and KSh 35,000 for Stage 12. Next to the Stage 11 row, the sheet says the fee “includes tuition fee, meals, accident cover, activity fee, books and digital learners aggregate platform”. We read that as applying to the Stage 11 instalments only, but confirm before paying any annual charges separately for Stage 11. Exam fees for Stages 6, 9 and 11 are invoiced in the first week of January.

Joining Fees and Discounts

New learners pay a one-off KSh 17,000: an admission fee of KSh 6,000, caution money of KSh 10,000 and an interview fee of KSh 1,000. The school also requires every learner to have a tablet in class. The tablet isn’t priced on the sheet, so treat it as an extra cost.

The school offers three discounts:

  • A family discount of 5% of tuition for a third child and 10% for a fourth, given on the child in the lower class.
  • 2% off a full term’s tuition paid early, by 30 November, 31 March or 31 July.
  • 5% off a full year’s tuition paid by 30 September for the Cambridge stream. On Stage 1 that is about KSh 19,945.

A learner with unpaid fees can’t sit end-of-term exams, and a dishonoured cheque costs KSh 5,000.

Two First-Year Examples

A new Stage 1 child: 398,900 tuition + 17,000 joining fees + 11,450 annual charges + 10,000 books = KSh 437,350. Of that, KSh 10,000 is refundable caution money.

A new Stage 7 learner: 527,200 + 17,000 + 11,450 + 20,000 books = KSh 575,650. Both are our own arithmetic. They leave out the tablet, uniform, any exam fees and transport, which the sheet does not list.

How to Pay

Pay by M-Pesa to paybill 562535, with the learner’s name as the account. You can also pay into the school’s accounts at Standard Chartered (Yaya), Stanbic (Westlands/Chiromo), ABSA, NCBA (Harambee Avenue), Co-op Bank (Nairobi Business Centre) or SBM (Hurlingham). The account numbers are printed on page two of the sheet.

How It Compares

For a Cambridge primary education on the Ngong Road side of Nairobi, Rose of Sharon is one of the more affordable options on this site. Here is how a year of primary compares:

  • Rose of Sharon, Stage 1: KSh 398,900 in tuition. The school says tuition includes meals, French, computer classes and co-curricular activities.
  • Makini Cambridge Ngong Road, Year 1: KSh 476,031.
  • Riara International, Year 1: KSh 535,500, including lunch and exercise books.
  • Rusinga, Year 1: KSh 792,000.

The gap is wider still in secondary. Rose of Sharon’s Stage 9 year costs KSh 590,000, compared with KSh 846,900 for Year 9 at Riara International. Remember to add Rose of Sharon’s annual charges and books, which those schools price differently. More schools are on the fees hub.
