Top of the Hill Girls Junior and Senior School is a private girls’ boarding school at Mutanga, near Nyahururu. It publishes its 2026 fees on its fee structure page, which lists Grade 7 (Junior School) and Grade 10 (Senior School) fees, general charges, uniform prices and items parents must buy. All figures here come from that page and are accurate as of October 2026.

The yearly totals are our arithmetic. The school prices each term by its length, which is clearer than most: Term 2, the longest, costs the most, and the nine-week Term 3 the least. The page lists only Grade 7 and Grade 10. Ask the school for Grade 8 and 9 rates.

The textbook fund covers all exercise books and textbooks, which the school provides. Bedding (mattress, sheets, pillow, bedcover) and a bucket are also provided, but a waterproof mattress protector costs KSh 2,000. A refundable, replenishable medical deposit of KSh 20,000 is payable by parents without medical cover. Caution money cannot be claimed once 12 months have passed after the student leaves.
Uniform Breakdown
The uniform must be bought from the school. Prices in KSh: pullover 1,500 (×2), blouse 1,400 (×2), checked skirt 1,300, pair of socks 300 (×3), tie 350, shoes 2,500, tracksuit 2,900, trouser 1,400, fleece jacket 2,500 and T-shirt 750 (×2). Junior School girls also take two dresses (2,200 each). Senior School girls take two plain skirts (1,700 each) and a blazer (3,800). We added the lists, and they match the totals of 23,550 and 26,350.
Clubs and Items to Buy
Drama, music, cookery, coding and soccer cost KSh 5,000 each. PE is included. Parents also buy stationery (Oxford Advanced Learner’s Dictionary, Kamusi Kuu ya Kiswahili, atlas, Good News Bible, Golden Bells hymn book, KNEC mathematical tables, calculator, geometrical set and pens) and personal items such as towels, toiletries and shoe polish.
Payment Terms
- Fees are payable in full on or before the first day of each term.
- Fees and other charges are not refundable.
- No cash or post-dated cheques. Quote your daughter’s admission number and name.

Two points to clarify with the school. The payment notes mention a “KShs 3,000 insurance cover” that does not appear in the charges table. Parts of the website, such as the headmaster’s name and some “Champion school” wording, also look like unedited website-template text. Neither changes the fee table, but confirm the full bill in writing before you pay.
A First-Year Example
A new Grade 10 boarder: 300,000 fees + 2,000 interview + 5,000 admission + 20,000 textbook fund + 500 ID + 1,800 rescue + 10,000 caution + 26,350 uniform = KSh 365,650, plus KSh 20,000 medical deposit if you have no cover. The same calculation for a new Grade 7 boarder gives KSh 332,850. This is our arithmetic.
