Riara Springs Girls’ Boarding Senior School is the girls’ boarding senior school of the Riara Group of Schools, a Nairobi-based private school group that also runs kindergartens, primary and junior schools. Its 2026 fee structure is published on the group’s own fees page, dated October 2025 and signed off by Riara Schools Management. Every figure below comes from that document (RSGSS 2026 fee structure, PDF). This page is accurate as of October 2026.

Grade 10 Fees per Term, 2026
| Level | Fee per term (KSh) | Per year, three terms (our arithmetic) |
|---|---|---|
| Grade 10 (boarding) | 245,000 | 735,000 |
The school states that the termly fee is “inclusive of boarding fees”. The document lists Grade 10 only. This is consistent with 2026 being the first year of CBC senior school, when Grade 10 is the only CBC senior class.
Other Charges
| Item | KSh | Notes |
|---|---|---|
| Application | 2,100 | Once |
| Registration | 4,000 | Once |
| Caution fee | 20,000 | Refundable on conditions (see below) |
| PTA annual subscription | 2,000 | Per family |
| Annual student accident cover and ambulance | 2,000 | Yearly |
| Uniform items provided in school | 23,000 | Blazer, scarf, three polo T-shirts, one round-neck T-shirt, full tracksuit, trouser and ¾ tracksuit |
On top of these, the school asks for a non-refundable reservation fee of KSh 50,000 on confirmation of admission. It is credited towards school fees, so it is an advance rather than an extra cost.
What a New Grade 10 Student Pays to Start
Adding the first term’s fee to the once-off and annual charges listed above gives KSh 298,100 for a new student’s first term: 245,000 + 2,100 + 4,000 + 20,000 + 2,000 + 2,000 + 23,000. That is our arithmetic. It excludes personal items, travel and pocket money, and the KSh 50,000 reservation fee counts towards the 245,000 rather than on top of it.
How to Pay
Payments go to The Riara Group of Schools Limited. The fee structure lists:
- M-Pesa paybill 805700, with the student’s admission number as the account number.
- KCB (account 1118056418, Prestige branch), ABSA (094-2388683, Queensway House), Standard Chartered (0102023481300, Kenyatta Avenue) and NCBA (1306770224, Junction).
The school does not accept cash at the office. Send the bank pay-in slip to fees@riaraschools.ac.ke to receive a receipt. Always confirm account details with the school before a large payment.
Payment Terms Worth Knowing
- Fees are due in full on or before the first day of term.
- Late payment: 3% interest per month on any amount unpaid 30 days after the start of term.
- Fees once paid are non-refundable.
- Caution money is refunded when the student completes her final year. If she withdraws early, the school deducts lost or damaged property and outstanding fees, and requires one term’s written notice. Without enough notice, the caution money is forfeited.
- Fees are “customarily reviewed annually”, and management reserves the right to adjust them.
How This Compares With Public Senior Schools
As a private school, Riara Springs Girls’ is not bound by the government fee ceilings. For comparison, under Gazette Notice No. 1449 of 2026 a public boarding senior school may charge parents at most KSh 53,554 a year, and a public day school nothing (senior school fees 2026). One term at Riara Springs Girls’ costs roughly 4.6 times the maximum public boarding fee for a whole year. Families weighing a private option should also read private CBC school fees, which compares this school with others, and bursaries and scholarships.
