Riara Junior School is the Grade 7–9 section of the Riara Group of Schools in Nairobi, a private group running schools from kindergarten to senior school. Its 2026 fee structure, dated October 2025, is published on the group’s fees page. Unlike many schools, it states clearly what the termly fee includes. What the fee covers: tuition, lunch, textbooks, exercise books, French, computer lessons, sports, swimming, and coding and robotics. Optional activities such as musical instruments, extra sports, horse riding, GP karting, karate and chess are charged separately.

A non-refundable reservation fee of KSh 10,000 per learner is payable on confirmation of admission and credited towards fees.

A Worked Example: Grade 7, New Learner, Zone 3 Two-Way Transport
Year one: 454,800 in fees + 2,100 + 4,000 + 10,000 + 500 + 1,300 + 9,000 + 2,000 in other charges + 141,000 transport (47,000 × 3) = KSh 624,700. This is our arithmetic from the published figures, before any optional activities.
How to Pay
- M-Pesa paybill 805700, with the learner’s admission number as the account.
- Bank accounts in the name of The Riara Group of Schools Limited: KCB 1118056418 (Prestige), ABSA 094-2388683 (Queensway House), Standard Chartered 0102023481300 (Kenyatta Avenue), NCBA 1306770224 (Junction).
- Email the pay-in slip to fees@riaraschools.ac.ke for a receipt. No cash is accepted at the school office.
Terms and Conditions
- Fees are due in full on or before the first day of term. A 3% monthly interest applies to amounts unpaid 30 days into the term.
- Fees paid are non-refundable. Caution money is refunded after the final year, or on withdrawal with one term’s written notice and after clearing any losses or balances.
- Fees are reviewed annually, and management may adjust them.
Compared With Public Junior Schools
A public junior school charges no fees. It receives government capitation per learner and is not allowed to charge levies or lunch fees (JSS fees and capitation 2026). Riara Junior’s fee includes lunch, books and enrichment that public schools do not provide in the same form.
