Moi Educational Centre (MEC) is a private school in Nairobi West, off Lang’ata Road. It was established in 1986 and describes itself as “celebrating 40 years of excellence”. It runs pre-primary, primary and junior school under CBC, and in 2026 it opened its first Grade 10 senior school class, offering STEM, Arts and Social Science pathways. MEC publishes its 2026 fees on its own website rather than only as a PDF. The figures below come from that page (MEC 2026 Fee Structure), read in October 2026.

We checked each annual total against its three terms, and they all add up. For pre-primary, the school notes that tuition “covers lunch, stationery, course books & swimming”. For Grade 10, the “all-inclusive standard package” covers tuition, a daily hot lunch, course books and core literature, essential stationery, and swimming. Club fees and specialised electives are billed separately. The page does not list any boarding fee.
Optional Senior School Electives (per Term)
- Music lessons/instruments: KSh 9,000
- Arts and Design: KSh 10,000
- Aviation Programme: KSh 10,000
Additional Charges

| PA Books Project (Grade 1) | Once | 7,500 |

Grade 10: the page lists a student emergency evacuation cover of KSh 1,100 a year and gives “Total One-Time / Annual Entry Charges” of KSh 28,100, but it does not itemise the rest of that total. Ask the admissions office for the breakdown.
What a Year Costs: Two Examples
- Continuing Grade 8 learner: 260,100 in fees + 2,000 medical = KSh 262,100.
- New Grade 10 student: 275,000 in fees + 28,100 entry charges = KSh 303,100, before electives or clubs.
Both are our arithmetic from the published figures.

Policies
- Termly fees are due in full on or before the first day of term. Students are admitted to class with an official clearance receipt.
- Fees are non-refundable. Caution money is refunded with one term’s written notice of withdrawal, after deductions for lost books or damage.
How It Compares
MEC’s Junior School fee of KSh 260,100 a year compares with zero at a public junior school, which is funded by government capitation (JSS fees and capitation). Its Grade 10 day fee of KSh 275,000 compares with zero at a public day senior school, or up to KSh 53,554 at a public boarding school (senior school fees 2026). Among Nairobi private schools we have checked, MEC costs less than Riara Junior and Light Academy Nairobi. See private CBC school fees and the fees hub.
