Nova Pioneer Tatu City Primary is the Nova Pioneer group’s CBE (CBC) primary campus inside Tatu City, Ruiru, in Kiambu County. Its 2027 sheet covers Playgroup to Grade 6. From Grade 7, learners move up to the group’s junior and senior campuses next door, which we cover on our Nova Pioneer Tatu City Boys and Girls page. The three terms are billed at the same amount. We added up every row, and all the totals on the sheet are correct. Meals are a separate KSh 24,300 a term at every level. The sheet offers no meals-free price, so treat the “Total” column as the real termly bill.
The steepest rise is from Grade 2 into Grade 3, when tuition goes up by KSh 23,000 a term. It rises again by KSh 16,900 a term into Grade 5. If you have a child in Pre-Primary 2 now, budget for the bill rising from KSh 118,000 to KSh 133,500 a term when they start Grade 1.
Paying for the year in advance. The sheet calls this a 10% discount on tuition. In fact the advance column also takes 10% off meals: KSh 72,900 of meals becomes KSh 65,610. To get it you must pay by 30 December 2026. You save KSh 33,480 on a Playgroup year, KSh 40,050 in Grades 1–2 and KSh 52,020 in Grades 5–6. Families who joined as founders in 2018 or 2019 keep their early-joiner tuition discount of 16% or 10%.

For a single child, the compulsory extras come to about KSh 4,480 a year: the admin fee, the first-child PTA fee, three birthday payments and the bereavement fee, if that is charged once a year. The two optional lines can matter far more. The field trip ranges from KSh 2,500 to KSh 30,000. Ask your class teacher which trip your child’s class is going on before you sign up. The sheet marks Zone 5A with an asterisk but doesn’t explain it, so check with transport.tatu@novapioneer.com before relying on that route. Bus fees are charged per term, so a two-way seat from Ruaka works out at KSh 150,300 a year. That is more than a full term of Grade 1 tuition, which is why families on the Tatu City estates have a real cost advantage.
Two First-Year Examples
A new Grade 1 child living in Tatu City (Zone 1A, two way): 400,500 tuition and meals + 10,000 caution + 5,000 enrolment + 1,040 admin + 1,000 PTA + 1,440 birthdays + 1,000 bereavement + 25,200 transport = KSh 445,180.
The same child commuting from Ruiru Town (Zone 3A, two way): replace the transport with 118,500, for a total of KSh 538,480. Both totals are our own arithmetic using the termly option. They leave out uniform, clubs, trips and any books the school asks you to buy. The caution fee comes back to you when your child leaves, if you give one term’s notice.
Deadlines and How to Pay
- Term 1 is due by 2 January 2027, Term 2 by 22 April 2027 and Term 3 by 19 August 2027. The annual option is due by 30 December 2026.
- Pay by M-Pesa to paybill 818319 using your child’s six-digit account number. You can also pay into Nova Pioneer Kenya Limited, I&M Bank, Sarit Centre, account 00301817421250. The school does not accept cash or cheques. Fee questions go to payments.tatuprimary@admin.novapioneer.com.
How It Compares
Tuition at Tatu City Primary is exactly the same as at the group’s Athi River CBE campus from Playgroup to Grade 6. The extras are set differently, though. Tatu charges an annual PTA fee and a termly birthday fee where Athi River charges PTA every term. Commencement costs KSh 10,000 at Tatu, compared with KSh 4,000 at Athi River. Founding families also get bigger discounts at Tatu.
Among Nairobi schools on this site, Riara charged KSh 112,000 a term for Grades 1–2 in 2026, with lunch, textbooks and exercise books included. Makini Runda charges KSh 115,090 a term for Grade 1 in 2027, with lunch included. At KSh 133,500 a term, Nova Pioneer’s Grade 1 bill is higher than both, and the Nova Pioneer sheet does not mention books at all.
