Free sample: 3 KCSE 2026 Physics Paper 2 predicted questions

Q1. Three resistors of 2 Ω, 3 Ω and 6 Ω are connected in parallel. Find the effective resistance.

Marking scheme

1/R = 1/2 + 1/3 + 1/6 = 1, so R = 1 Ω.

Q2. A transformer has 200 primary turns and 1,000 secondary turns. The primary voltage is 240 V. Find the secondary voltage.

Marking scheme

Vs = 240 × 1,000/200 = 1,200 V (step-up).

Q3. A wave has frequency 50 Hz and wavelength 6.8 m. Find its speed.

Marking scheme

v = fλ = 340 m/s.
