Dates and timetable
The Ministry of Education has confirmed that Term 1 of 2027 opens on Monday 4 January 2027. When the pack was prepared (1 November 2026) the full 2027 calendar, with half-term and closing dates, had not been published, so the plan uses the usual pattern of 11 teaching weeks plus a revision week. Junior School timetables give each of these learning areas 5 lessons of 40 minutes a week. If your school calendar differs, move lessons along and record the real dates in the record of work.

Strands, sub-strands, learning outcomes, learning experiences, key inquiry questions and lesson numbers come from the KICD Grade 9 curriculum designs for Mathematics, English and Integrated Science (first published 2024). Lesson plans, resources lists and assessment ideas were written by CBC Guides from those designs. This is not a KICD, KNEC or TSC publication and is not endorsed by them. Check it against your school’s own plans before use.
