Schemes of Work Term 1 2027: Grades 7, 8 and 9

Schemes of work for Junior School Term 1 2027, ready to print: Grades 7, 8 and 9, in Mathematics, English and Integrated Science. Each grade pack has a full-term scheme of work, lesson plans for the first two weeks and a record of work with the work already written in, all built from the KICD curriculum designs.

What is in each grade pack

• Three PDFs: Mathematics, English and Integrated Science
• A scheme of work for Weeks 1 to 12: week, lesson, strand, sub-strand, specific learning outcomes, key inquiry question, learning experiences, resources, assessment and remarks
• Thirty 40-minute lesson plans (Weeks 1 and 2 in each learning area)
• A record of work with the work covered filled in for every lesson, ready for your dates and signature

Sub-strands follow the KICD design order and the suggested number of lessons, at 5 lessons a week. Each grade page lists exactly what Term 1 covers and shows Week 1 of the Mathematics scheme as a free sample.

Term dates

Term 1 2027 opens on Monday 4 January 2027, as confirmed by the Ministry of Education. The full 2027 calendar had not been published when these packs were prepared, so they plan 11 teaching weeks plus a revision week, the usual pattern. Adjust the dates in the record of work if your calendar differs.

Which grades and subjects are available?

Term 1 2027 packs for Grades 7, 8 and 9, each covering Mathematics, English and Integrated Science.

Are the schemes of work based on the KICD curriculum designs?

Yes. Strands, sub-strands, learning outcomes, learning experiences, key inquiry questions and lesson numbers come from the KICD Junior School designs, in the order they set out. The packs are not endorsed by KICD.

How much is a scheme of work pack?

KSh 250 per grade for all three learning areas, paid once. The Teacher Pass (KSh 600 for 30 days) includes all three grades.

Do the packs include lesson plans and a record of work?

Yes. Each learning area has lesson plans for Weeks 1 and 2 and a record of work with the work covered already filled in.

Are the files editable?

They are print-ready PDFs, not Word files. The dates, remarks and signature columns are blank for you to fill in.
