Packing: check against the school’s list
Always follow your school’s official admission letter first. Then check: name labels on everything; a padlock and spare key with a parent; a small sewing kit; two of each uniform item where allowed; a list of important phone numbers written on paper.
Money plan
Agree together: how much pocket money per term, where it is kept (usually with the school bursar or a shop account), and a simple weekly limit. Your teen writes a mini budget: toiletries, snacks, emergencies.
Homesickness: plan before day one
Agree on visiting and calling days, write a letter to open on the first night, and name one teacher or matron to talk to.
