“KJSEA past papers” is one of the most searched exam phrases in Kenya this term, and the honest answer surprises many parents: there is only one set of real KJSEA papers so far. The Kenya Junior School Education Assessment was sat for the first time in October 2025, by the first CBC Grade 9 cohort.

About these papers

This page explains what official material exists, where to get it legally, what the papers look like, and how to practise properly with original papers you can sit online.

What Official KJSEA Papers Exist?

  • The 2025 KJSEA papers. KNEC owns these. It does not publish them for public download, and copies circulating on WhatsApp and file-sharing sites are shared without permission, often with home-made marking schemes that contain errors.
  • KNEC sample papers and assessment tools. KNEC uploads sample papers and school-based assessment tools to its CBA portal for schools. Your child’s school can download them and share them with learners. This is the most reliable practice material there is.
  • The official timetable and instructions, published on the KNEC website, which confirm paper codes and timings.

Anything else, including files titled “KJSEA past papers 2025 with answers pdf free download” or “KJSEA prediction papers 2026”, is a mock exam written by a school, a publisher or a website. Some are good. Treat them as practice, not as the real thing, and check the answers.

Practise Online With Our KJSEA Papers

We write original papers that follow the KJSEA structure exactly: the same sections, marks and time. You sit them online, they mark themselves, and each question has a worked answer.

How To Get The Most From Any Past Or Practice Paper

A paper is only useful if it is marked and the mistakes are fixed. Sit it in the real time, at the real time of day if you can. Mark it the same day. For every lost mark, write down the topic and the reason: did your child not know the content, misread the question, run out of time, or make a careless slip? Each reason has a different fix. Content gaps need revision of that topic; misreading needs practice with command words; timing needs more timed papers; and slips need a habit of checking working.

In the structured sections, train your child to show every step. KNEC awards method marks, so a learner who sets out the working clearly can lose one mark for a slip instead of all of them.
