Quick answer: To check KJSEA results, open kjsea.knec.ac.ke and enter the learner’s assessment number and one registered name. For KPSEA results, use kpsea.knec.ac.ke the same way. These were the official channels for the 2025 results. The 2026 release dates have not been announced; based on 2025, KJSEA results are expected in December 2026 and KPSEA reports in January 2027.

When are KPSEA and KJSEA 2026 results expected?
The 2026 papers ended on 28 October (KPSEA) and 30 October (KJSEA). Neither KNEC nor the Ministry of Education has announced release dates. Last year gives a guide:
| Assessment | 2025 papers ended | 2025 results released | 2026 expectation |
|---|---|---|---|
| KJSEA (Grade 9) | Late October 2025 | 11 December 2025, with senior school placement | Expected December 2026 |

How to check KJSEA results online
- Open kjsea.knec.ac.ke on a phone or computer.
- Type the learner’s assessment number exactly as on the registration slip.
- Type any one of the learner’s names as registered.
- Submit. The result shows performance in each learning area.
- Save a screenshot or print it. Schools also issue result slips.
In 2025, placement to senior school could also be viewed on selection.education.go.ke using the assessment number. Read our KJSEA result slip checklist and the meaning of EE1, ME2 and AE1.
How to check KJSEA placement by SMS
For the 2025 cohort, the Ministry provided an SMS option to see the selected senior school: send the learner’s assessment number to 22263. Each SMS cost KSh 30. Confirm the number is still in use when the 2026 results are announced, as SMS codes can change each year.
How to check KPSEA results
- Open kpsea.knec.ac.ke.
- Enter the assessment number and at least one registered name.
- Accept the privacy and access notice, then search to view the performance report.
Schools can also download individual learner reports from the KNEC CBA portal (cba.knec.ac.ke) using the school’s KNEC code and password. If you cannot access the online report, ask the class teacher or head teacher for a copy. KPSEA does not decide which junior school a learner joins; every learner moves to Grade 7. See what KPSEA results mean.
What if the portal will not load or the details do not match?
- Results-day traffic is heavy. Try again early in the morning or late at night.
- Check the assessment number digit by digit and try a different registered name.
- If the name or number is wrong in the record, the school should raise it with the Sub-County Director of Education.
- Never pay a website or a stranger to “fetch” results, and never share the assessment number publicly.
What to do after the results
For Grade 9 families, the next step is Grade 10 placement: see senior school placement and pathways, the placement predictor and what to do if your child misses their school. Learners joining Grade 6 or Grade 9 next year can start with the January catch-up courses from 5 January 2027.
