CBC Revision In Embakasi And Eastlands: KJSEA And KPSEA 2026

Embakasi is the biggest sub-county in Nairobi by population: the 2019 census counted nearly a million people there, more than a fifth of the whole county, at over 11,000 people per square kilometre. It sweeps across Eastlands from Donholm, Pipeline and Tena out past Utawala, Fedha, Nyayo Estate and Embakasi village towards Jomo Kenyatta International Airport. If you are a parent here with a child in Grade 6 or Grade 9, you are part of one of the largest groups of KPSEA and KJSEA candidates anywhere in Kenya. The papers run from Monday 26 October to Friday 30 October 2026.

Outer Ring Road, Mombasa Road And Exam Week

Learners sit at their own registered school, so the journey is the familiar one, but Eastlands traffic is unforgiving. Outer Ring Road, Mombasa Road and the Airport North Road can all stall in the morning rush, and rainy mornings make it worse. Get your child out of the house earlier for all five days. If they use a school van, agree the times on Saturday. If they walk, check the route is safe in the early half-light. Watch the days left on our exam countdown.

A Public Library Close By

The Kenya National Library Service has a branch at Buruburu. For a Grade 9 learner from Donholm, Umoja or Pipeline, a Saturday morning there with a past paper and a pencil can be the most focused study of the week. Phone ahead to confirm opening hours.

Making The Most Of One Hour

Many Embakasi homes are flats where homework happens at the same table as supper. One good hour is enough if it is used well:

  • Ten minutes: choose one topic from What to revise now.
  • Fifteen minutes: sit an exam-week mini-paper with the phone timer on.
  • Twenty minutes: read every worked answer, including the right ones, and copy one method into an exercise book.
  • Fifteen minutes: explain one question out loud to a parent or sibling.

Do that five evenings in a row and the week is well spent. The mini-papers load fast on small bundles, and the first five questions are free.

Senior School: Cost And Distance

Junior school now sits within primary schools, so most learners here sit KJSEA where they took KPSEA. Grade 10 begins in January 2027 and placement follows the pathway: STEM, Social Sciences, or Arts and Sports Science. Eastlands families usually think hard about money: daily fares to a day school versus boarding fees elsewhere. Neither is automatically better. Use our pathways guide to agree the pathway with your child first, try the KJSEA grade calculator to read the results, and look at the pathway report if you want a written plan.

The KJSEA Grade 9 revision book costs KSh 250, the KPSEA Grade 6 revision book KSh 200, the Monthly Pass KSh 500, and each December holiday pack KSh 120. Pay by M-Pesa at checkout (pricing). No per-topic charges. Every question is checked by a teacher; see how we check questions. We are independent and not linked to KNEC or KICD.
