CBC Revision In Kiambu County: KJSEA And KPSEA 2026 Guide

Kiambu is Kenya’s second most populous county, with about 2.4 million people at the 2019 census, and it is really several different places at once. Ruiru, Juja and Thika sit along the Thika Superhighway; Kikuyu, Kabete and Limuru climb west into the highlands; Gatundu, Githunguri and Lari are greener and more rural. A Grade 9 learner in a Ruiru apartment and one on a Githunguri farm sit exactly the same KJSEA papers, but their evenings look very different. This guide tries to respect both.

KPSEA And KJSEA 2026 In Kiambu

Both national assessments run from Monday 26 October to Friday 30 October 2026. Learners sit them at their own registered school, so the main local variable is getting there. Kiambu’s cold mornings matter more than people expect: the upper parts of Limuru can drop close to freezing in the cold season, and while late October is warmer, a 5:30 am start in the highlands is still chilly. A jumper that fits under the uniform, a proper breakfast and a flask of something warm are small things that help a child settle in the first paper.

For learners commuting along the Thika Superhighway or Waiyaki Way into Nairobi schools, assume Monday traffic will be heavy and leave early. Use our exam countdown to see the days left.

The Commuter Belt Question

Many Kiambu families moved out of Nairobi for space and lower rent, and a lot of children still attend school in the city. If that is your family, revision time is the first casualty: a learner who leaves at 6:00 am and gets home at 6:30 pm has perhaps one usable hour. The answer is not longer sessions but sharper ones. Twenty focused minutes on the single weakest topic, chosen with What to revise now, beats an hour of rereading notes on a matatu.

Junior School, Then Senior School

Junior school (Grades 7 to 9) now runs inside primary schools, so most Kiambu learners sit KJSEA where they sat KPSEA three years ago. After KJSEA, the first big decision is the senior school pathway for Grade 10 in January 2027: STEM, Social Sciences, or Arts and Sports Science. Kiambu has a long list of established secondary schools, and families here often weigh a well-known boarding school against a day school close to home that saves on fares and boarding fees. Read the pathways guide together with your child before the selection window, and use the KJSEA grade calculator to understand how levels convert to points.

For Rural Wards: Revising With Limited Data

If home internet is patchy, plan to load revision at one go. Open a practice paper while on Wi-Fi or strong signal, and work through it on paper offline. Our exam-week mini-papers are deliberately short, about 15 minutes, so they use little data. The revision books are designed to be printed or read offline once bought.

What We Sell, And What Is Free

Free: What to revise now, the exam countdown, the grade calculator, the pathways guide, the first questions of every mini-paper, and a report card maker for teachers.

Paid, all by M-Pesa: the KJSEA Grade 9 revision book at KSh 250, the KPSEA Grade 6 book at KSh 200, December holiday packs at KSh 120 for Grades 4 to 9, and the Monthly Pass at KSh 500 for full access (pricing). One price, no per-topic charges. Each question is checked by a teacher; we explain the process on how we check questions. We are an independent revision site, not KNEC or KICD.

A Note For The Last Weekend

On Saturday 24 October, do one full timed paper in the morning, then stop. Sunday is for packing the exam bag, checking the route, and sleeping early. Tired children make careless errors; rested ones do not need the extra hour.
