CBC Revision In Lang’ata: KJSEA And KPSEA 2026 Guide For Parents

Lang’ata is a collection of estates, not a single neighbourhood. It stretches along Langata Road from Nyayo Stadium towards Galleria and the Magadi Road junction, and includes Nairobi Dam, Otiende, Southlands, Ngei, Jambo, Onyonka, Madaraka, Rubia, NHC Langata, Akiba, Sun Valley, Royal Park and more. Most homes are maisonettes or apartment blocks, many of them built by housing schemes for civil servants and professionals. Wilson Airport, Uhuru Gardens, Bomas of Kenya and the Giraffe Centre are all here, and the edge of Nairobi National Park is never far away.

KPSEA (Grade 6) and KJSEA (Grade 9) run from Monday 26 October to Friday 30 October 2026, at each learner’s own school.

Langata Road In Exam Week

Langata Road is the spine everything depends on, and its junctions with Mbagathi Way, the Southern Bypass and Magadi Road back up early, especially with traffic coming up from Rongai. Children going to school within Langata usually have short trips, but they still sit in that queue. Leave 15 to 20 minutes earlier for all five days. If your child walks inside an estate, that is ideal; just make sure the route is agreed. Keep the date in view with the exam countdown.

Estate Life Is Good For Revision

Many Langata estates are gated courts with open space and close neighbours. That can work in your favour: two or three Grade 9 learners in the same court can test each other for half an hour after supper, using a shared mini-paper. Pick topics together from What to revise now, then each sits the same 15-minute exam-week mini-paper and compares answers. The first five questions are free on any phone, and arguing about a worked answer is revision too.

Don’t Overdo The Last Week

Parents in civil service and professional households sometimes push extra tuition into the final days. A better plan is fewer, sharper sessions: one topic a night, one timed set, one honest look at mistakes. Then stop by 9 pm. Saturday morning can hold a full timed paper; Saturday afternoon is for a walk or rest.

Grade 10: Langata’s Options

Since junior school is now hosted in primary schools, most Langata learners sit KJSEA in the school where they did Grade 6. In January 2027 they begin senior school, placed according to their pathway: STEM, Social Sciences, or Arts and Sports Science. Langata families often weigh day schools on the south side of the city against boarding schools in other counties. Decide the pathway first with our pathways guide, read results with the KJSEA grade calculator, and see the pathway report for a written plan.

Paying For Practice

The free tools cover a great deal. For more, the KJSEA Grade 9 revision book is KSh 250, the KPSEA Grade 6 revision book KSh 200, the Monthly Pass KSh 500, and the December holiday packs KSh 120. We take M-Pesa; see pricing. There are no per-topic fees. A teacher checks every question; the details are on how we check questions. We are independent, not KNEC or KICD.
