Makini Preschool Ngong Road is the early-years section of the private Makini group’s Ngong Road campus in Nairobi. It takes children in Playgroup, Pre-Primary 1 and Pre-Primary 2 before they move into Makini School Primary Ngong Road, which starts at Grade 1. Makini published its 2027 fee structures on its fees page in October 2026. All figures below come from the Makini Preschool Ngong Road CBE fee structure 2027 (PDF) and the Ngong Road campus 2026 transport sheet (PDF). This page is accurate as of October 2026.

Every term costs the same. The PP2 total adds up exactly. The Playgroup and PP1 totals are KSh 1 below three times the termly fee (3 × 98,683 is 296,049), which is rounding.
Playgroup is priced the same as PP1, so the youngest children pay a full PP1 fee. At Makini’s Runda campus, Playgroup is KSh 25,755 a term cheaper than here. Tuition includes lunch, tea break, computer, games and swimming, and chess. Ask the school how swimming and computer work for three-year-olds before you treat them as part of the value.

Joining costs KSh 18,260, including a KSh 13,500 deposit you should get back when your child leaves. The termly PTA and insurance add KSh 4,800 a year. Unlike the Kisumu sheets, there is no termly activity fee.

On Ngong Road the zones are numbered from the farthest (Zone 1) to the nearest (Zone 7). For a small child, the bus ride can be long from Zone 1 estates. Two-way Zone 1 transport costs KSh 141,153 a year, almost half the Playgroup tuition. Transport needs an approved application form (+254 718 932 479). Makini has not yet posted 2027 transport rates.
Discounts and How to Pay
- Annual discount: 5% for paying the year in advance, about KSh 14,802 on Playgroup or PP1 tuition.
- Sibling discount: 5% off tuition from the fourth child, on the youngest sibling’s fee.
- Pay to The Makini School Limited, Absa Bank Kenya, Hurlingham branch, account 0451200518, or M-Pesa paybill 932271, with the child’s file number as the reference.
- Fees are due on the first day of each term. Accounts: 0719 232 887.
A First-Year Example
A new Playgroup child from Kilimani (Zone 6, two way) in 2027 would pay 296,048 tuition + 18,260 joining charges + 4,800 PTA and insurance + 500 diary + 88,929 transport = KSh 408,537, before uniform. This is our arithmetic, at 2026 transport rates.
How It Compares
Ngong Road is Makini’s dearest preschool among the sheets we have read. PP1 here is KSh 17,010 a term more than at Makini Statehouse Junior Academy and KSh 1,825 more than at Makini Runda. PP2 is KSh 6,695 a term more than at Runda. At Makini Migosi in Kisumu, Playgroup costs KSh 41,601 a term.
