Makini Cambridge School Runda is the private Makini group’s Cambridge (British) curriculum school at its Runda campus in northern Nairobi, separate from Makini’s CBE schools on the same site. Like other Cambridge schools, it works on an academic year from roughly September to July. Its Fee Structure 2026/2027, Cambridge Curriculum, Makini Cambridge Runda (PDF), linked from Makini’s fees page, was created in July 2026 and is the source for every figure below. This page is accurate as of October 2026.

Tuition 2026/2027, KSh
| Stage (as labelled) | Class | Per term (Terms I, II and III) | Year (as published) |
|---|---|---|---|
| Early Years and Foundation Stage | Year 1 | 168,991 | 506,973 |
| Year 2 | 168,991 | 506,973 | |
| Key Stage 2 (Preparatory) | Year 3 | 168,991 | 506,973 |
| Year 4 | 170,556 | 511,668 | |
| Year 5 | 170,556 | 511,668 | |
| Year 6 | 170,556 | 511,668 | |
| Key Stage 3 (Lower) | Year 7 | 222,746 | 668,238 |
| Year 8 | 222,746 | 668,238 | |
| Year 9 | 234,469 | 703,408 |
We checked each total. All add up exactly except Year 9, where three times 234,469 is 703,407, KSh 1 less than printed.
The sheet starts at Year 1 and ends at Year 9. It lists no Early Years or Reception class, even though the heading says “Early Years and Foundation Stage”, and no Year 10 or 11 tuition, although the book levy goes up to Years 9–11. If your child is younger than Year 1 or older than Year 9, ask Makini whether Runda takes that year group in 2026/27 and at what fee.
The big step is Year 6 to Year 7, when tuition rises by KSh 52,190 a term. Within the prep years the fee barely moves: Year 4 costs only KSh 1,565 a term more than Year 3. Tuition includes lunch, tea break, computer, games and swimming, and chess.

This table is headed “2025/2026” on a 2026/2027 sheet, so these charges may be last year’s. Ask whether they still apply for 2026/27.
Discounts, Notice and How to Pay
- Annual discount: 5% for paying the year’s fees in advance. On Year 7 tuition that is about KSh 33,412.
- Sibling discount: 5% off tuition from the fourth child, on the youngest sibling’s fee.
- Withdrawal: taking a child out needs a term’s notice, plus a transfer request made through a customer service ticket.
- Pay into Absa Bank Kenya, Hurlingham branch, account 0451200518, or M-Pesa paybill 932271, with the child’s file number as the account. This sheet gives the account name as “The Makini Schools Ltd”. Makini’s CBE sheets say “The Makini School Limited”, with the same account number.
- Fees are due on the first day of each term, before the child is admitted to class. Accounts: 0719 232 887.
A First-Year Example
A new Year 7 pupil in 2026/27 would pay 668,238 tuition + 2,150 application + 10,750 admission + 10,750 refundable deposit + 3,300 PTA and insurance + 600 ID card + 500 diary + 18,318 book levy = KSh 714,606. That excludes uniform, transport and Cambridge exam fees, and uses the joining charges as printed. This is our arithmetic. The sheet does not list transport. Makini’s Runda campus transport zones run from KSh 20,160 to KSh 64,000 a term two way at 2026 rates. Confirm with the school whether they apply to Cambridge pupils.
How It Compares
Runda’s Cambridge fees are higher than at Makini Cambridge Ngong Road: KSh 10,314 a term more for Year 1, KSh 13,595 more for Year 7 and KSh 14,310 more for Year 9. Both sheets charge the same book levy. Runda’s printed joining charges are lower: Ngong Road lists a KSh 2,733 admission fee and a KSh 13,200 deposit. For families choosing between curricula on the same campus, Makini’s CBE Junior School Runda charges KSh 151,554 a term for Grade 7, KSh 71,192 less than Cambridge Year 7. Among Nairobi’s international schools, Light International School Karen and Braeburn Gitanga Road cost far more. See the fees hub for other schools.
