Makini School Primary Ngong Road is the private Makini group’s CBE (CBC) primary school on Ngong Road, Nairobi, for Grades 1 to 6. Makini also runs a Junior School and a Cambridge curriculum school on Ngong Road. In October 2026 Makini put its 2027 fee structures on its fees page, so this article covers the fees that apply from January 2027. Figures come from the Makini School Primary Ngong Road CBE fee structure 2027 (PDF). This page is accurate as of October 2026.

Tuition 2027, KSh

GradePer term (Terms I, II and III)Year (as published)
Grade 1107,526322,577
Grade 2118,949356,847
Grade 3119,461358,384
Grade 4119,461358,384
Grade 5120,101360,304
Grade 6120,101360,304

Each term costs the same. Most published yearly totals are KSh 1 away from three times the termly fee (for example, 3 × 119,461 is 358,383), which looks like rounding; Grade 2 matches exactly.

The one real step is from Grade 1 to Grade 2, an extra KSh 11,423 a term. From Grade 2 to Grade 6 the fee rises by only KSh 1,152 a term in total, so a family can plan five years of primary at almost the same rate (at 2027 prices).

Tuition includes lunch, tea break, computer, games and swimming, and chess. The sheet covers Grades 1–6 only. It shows no pre-school classes for this campus. For Playgroup to PP2, see Makini’s Statehouse Junior Academy.

Transport

The 2027 sheet does not list transport. Makini’s 2026 Ngong Road transport sheet has seven zones per term, from KSh 21,615 one way / KSh 26,246 two way (Zone 7: Riara Road, Woodley, Jamhuri, Dagoretti Corner) up to KSh 42,627 / KSh 47,051 (Zone 1: estates such as Runda, Kasarani, Donholm and Ngong). The full zone table is in our Makini Junior School Ngong Road article. Transport needs an approved application form (+254 718 932 479), and 2027 rates may change.

Discounts and How to Pay

  • Sibling discount: 5% off tuition from the fourth child, given on the youngest sibling’s fees.
  • Annual discount: 5% for paying the year in advance. On Grade 2 tuition, that is about KSh 17,842.
  • ABSA Bank Kenya, Hurlingham, account 0451200518, The Makini School Limited, or M-Pesa paybill 932271. Use the student’s file number as the reference.
  • Fees are due on the first day of each term. Accounts department: 0719 232 887.

A First-Year Example

A new Grade 1 learner in 2027 would pay 322,577 tuition + 2,040 application + 2,720 registration + 13,500 refundable deposit + 4,800 PTA and insurance (three terms) + 500 diary = KSh 346,137, before uniform, stationery and transport. A Grade 4 child using Zone 4 two-way transport (KSh 37,316 a term at 2026 rates) would pay about KSh 470,331 a year in tuition and transport. This is our arithmetic.

How It Compares

Grade 6 here costs KSh 360,304 a year in tuition. That is KSh 18,806 more than at Makini’s Statehouse Junior Academy, and far more than Makini’s Kisumu primary. The next step is Makini Junior School Ngong Road, where Grade 7 is KSh 144,681 a term. For Kenyan families thinking about Cambridge instead, Makini also runs Makini Cambridge.
