Makini Junior School Kisumu City is the private Makini group’s CBE (CBC) junior school in Kisumu, for Grades 7 to 9. The group also runs a primary school, a senior school and a Migosi campus in the city. Makini published its 2027 fee structures on its fees page in October 2026. This article uses the Makini Junior School Kisumu City fee structure 2027 (PDF) and the Kisumu City campus 2026 transport sheet (PDF), and is accurate as of October 2026.

Kondele and Chulaimbo each appear in two zones on the sheet, so confirm your exact pick-up point. Transport is only provided once the transport office (+254 741 918 054) approves an application form. Makini has not yet posted 2027 rates, so these may change.

Unlike Nairobi, Kisumu two-way transport costs only a little more than one way (KSh 1,544 a term in Zone 1). That makes the two-way option the obvious choice for most families who need it.

Discounts and How to Pay

  • Sibling discount: 5% off tuition from the fourth child, on the youngest sibling’s fees.
  • Annual discount: 5% for paying the year in advance, worth about KSh 9,679 on a Junior School year.
  • ABSA Bank Kenya, Hurlingham branch, account 0451200518, The Makini School Limited; or M-Pesa paybill 932271. Use the student’s file number (up to six digits) as the reference.
  • Fees are due on the first day of each term, before the student is admitted to class. Accounts: 0719 232 887.

A First-Year Example

A new Grade 7 learner from Migosi (Zone 2, two way) in 2027 would pay 193,575 tuition + 2,040 application + 2,720 registration + 13,500 refundable deposit + 8,550 PTA, activity and insurance + 500 diary + 46,548 transport = KSh 267,433, before uniform and books. This is our arithmetic, using 2026 transport rates.

How It Compares

The same Makini Grade 7 costs KSh 434,042 a year at Makini Junior School Ngong Road, about 2.2 times the Kisumu fee, with the same listed inclusions. After Grade 9, Makini Senior School Kisumu City charges KSh 70,978 a term for Grade 10, only KSh 6,453 a term more. Public junior schools are funded through capitation and charge day learners no tuition (JSS fees and capitation). For boarding junior schools in the region, see Crystal Hill Academy at Sondu and The Nambale Magnet School in Busia. Every school we have checked is on the fees hub.
