What CBC Guides offers

CBC Guides started as a revision site and has grown into a toolkit for everyone around a Kenyan learner: the child sitting the exam, the parent paying the fees, the teacher marking the papers and the school owner running the place. This page lists everything on the site in one place, grouped by who usually needs it. Every link below goes to a working page.

One note before you start: we are an independent site. Our questions are written and checked by teachers, but we are not KICD or KNEC, and nothing here is an official exam body publication.

If you are revising for an exam

Most learners arrive here a few weeks before an assessment. The exams hub splits things by level. Grade 6 learners preparing for KPSEA should go to KPSEA and its past papers. Grade 9 learners facing KJSEA have KJSEA and KJSEA past papers. Form 4 candidates still on the 8-4-4 system have a full KCSE hub, with KCSE past papers organised paper by paper.

Away from exam season, the grade pages cover Grades 4 to 9 by learning area, and revision papers give timed practice. For something shorter, try the quizzes, which mark themselves as you go, or the daily CBC Challenge, a small set of fresh questions each day that suits a ten-minute slot after school.

If you do not know where to begin, What to revise points you to the topics that matter most, and the exam countdown shows how many days are left. Over the holidays, holiday homework keeps the routine going, and revision books lists printed options. Curious how questions are checked? Here is our process.

If you are a parent choosing a senior school

The jump from Grade 9 to senior school is where most parents need help. The Grade 10 placement predictor gives a rough idea of likely placement from expected results, and the KJSEA grade calculator turns subject scores into a grade. Treat both as planning aids, not promises.

To look at actual schools, use the senior school finder, browse the senior schools list, or put two or three side by side with school comparison. To understand what your child will study, start with CBC pathways, then subject combinations; the pathway report pulls it together for one learner.

If you are planning fees and school costs

The school fees guide explains what schools charge and why. The fees tracker helps you log what you have paid, and the fee calendar lines payments up with term dates. Before reporting day, the reporting list builder turns a school’s requirements into a checklist.

For the money side, we have plain guides to how to pay school fees, education insurance and education savings plans. If cost is a barrier, the bursaries page lists current bursaries and scholarships. For extra help at home, see tutors and holiday tuition and camps.

If you are a teacher

Teacher jobs collects openings at schools across Kenya. Teacher resources has material for lesson planning and assessment, and the CBC report card maker saves time at the end of term. For a view of how learners performed, read the KJSEA and KPSEA results analysis.

If you run or own a school

The school owners hub covers starting, registering and growing a private school. School systems compares software for fees, report cards, timetables and admissions, and for schools explains what CBC Guides offers schools. Need a supplier, transport or an ECDE centre? The directories list them by type.

Everything else

All the interactive tools are also gathered on the tools page, and longer reads live under guides. To learn who we are, see about; to reach us, use contact. Plans and prices are on the pricing page, and organisations interested in reaching parents and teachers can see the advertise page, where any sponsored content is clearly labelled.
