Braeburn School Fees 2026-2027: Four Kenyan Campuses Compared

“Braeburn school fees” is really four or more questions, because each Braeburn campus in Kenya sets its own fees. The group’s Lavington school on Gitanga Road, its Garden Estate school, Braeburn Mombasa and Braeburn Nanyuki all follow the National Curriculum of England, but a Year 1 place at one can cost two and a half times the same year at another. This page puts the published sheets side by side so you can compare like with like, then follow the link to the full breakdown where we have one.

Gitanga Road, Mombasa and Nanyuki have posted termly fee structures for September 2026 to August 2027. Garden Estate’s official fee structure page still shows 2025/2026 annual figures when we checked on 26 October 2026, so we show those divided by three and label them clearly. All amounts are Kenya shillings per term, tuition only, unless stated.

The pattern is clear. The two Nairobi schools sit in a band of their own, with Gitanga Road the dearest on the sheets now published. Mombasa charges well under half of Gitanga Road’s fee in the primary years. Nanyuki sits in between, and its sheet stops at Year 8, so families there need a plan for Year 9 onwards.

Gitanga Road: Flat Fees From Year 1 to Year 6

The Braeburn School Gitanga Road fees structure for 2026/27 charges KSh 750,000 a term for every year from Year 1 to Year 6, more than double the Reception fee of KSh 366,600. Once a child starts Year 1, the primary fee does not step up again until Year 7, at current prices. Lunch is billed separately, at KSh 43,500 to KSh 45,000 a term in the primary years. With lunch, a Year 10 student costs KSh 884,000 a term, or KSh 2,652,000 a year. Our Braeburn Gitanga Road fees page has the full table, transport zones and the two-instalment billing for Years 11 to 13.

Braeburn Mombasa: How Much Fees Rose This Year

Mombasa is the only campus where we can line up both years on the school’s own documents. Its Braeburn Mombasa termly fees structure for 2026/27 charges KSh 298,500 for Years 1–2 and KSh 455,900 for Year 10. The school’s 2025/26 annual figures work out to KSh 284,200 and KSh 434,100 a term, so tuition rose by 5% across the board. A Year 10 student at Mombasa pays about 57% of the Gitanga Road fee once lunch is included. Mombasa offers two bus options, a regular route at KSh 52,900 a term return and a Kilifi route at KSh 58,200.

Braeburn Nanyuki: A Day Primary School

The Braeburn Nanyuki fees structure for 2026/27 runs from Crèche to Year 8: Years 1–2 at KSh 371,100, Years 3–6 at KSh 442,100 and Years 7–8 at KSh 478,600 a term, plus lunch of KSh 37,800 to KSh 41,700. Compared with the 2025/26 figures on its fee page, tuition went up by about 6.5%, a steeper rise than at Mombasa. Transport has two zones, KSh 40,700 or KSh 54,500 a term return.

Garden Estate: The Boarding Option

Garden Estate is the campus that lists boarding, from Year 9. On its 2025/26 page, weekly boarding for Year 10 costs KSh 1,160,700 a year and full boarding KSh 1,810,498, on top of tuition of KSh 2,385,000 for Years 10 and 11. That puts a full-boarding Year 10 student at about KSh 4.2 million a year before lunch and exam fees, at last year’s prices. The page also notes that fees include approved textbooks and exercise books.

Rules That Apply at Every Campus

  • Registration: a non-refundable KSh 5,000, and where places are scarce a 20% advance on the first term’s tuition, which is lost if you do not take up the place.
  • Deposit: KSh 50,000 at Gitanga Road and Garden Estate, KSh 15,000 at Mombasa and Nanyuki, refundable at the end of the final term after clearance.
  • Early payment: 3% off tuition if the full fee is paid within six days of the due date.
  • Family discounts: 10% off the second child’s tuition, 20% for the third, 30% for the fourth and 40% from the fifth, plus 50% off transport for siblings on the same route. That is far more generous than most Kenyan private groups; Makini, for example, gives 5% only from the fourth child.
  • Late payment: a 1.25% surcharge per month, and a full term’s written notice before withdrawal, or a term’s fees in lieu.
  • Not included: enrolment and examination fees, and activity fees, which come with a letter from the headteacher.

A Worked Example: Two Children in Primary

Two children in Years 3 and 5 at Gitanga Road would pay KSh 750,000 plus KSh 675,000 (after the 10% second-child discount) in tuition, and KSh 90,000 in lunch, a total of KSh 1,515,000 a term. The same two children at Braeburn Mombasa would pay KSh 367,900 plus KSh 331,110 in tuition and KSh 87,000 in lunch, KSh 786,010 a term. Paying within six days takes another 3% off the tuition. This is our arithmetic from the published sheets, before transport and activities.

How Braeburn Compares

Braeburn’s Nairobi fees are in the top tier of the international schools we have checked. For other British-curriculum options in the city, see Hillcrest International School, Nairobi International School, Potterhouse School and St Christopher’s in Karen. Families weighing a Kenyan-curriculum school instead can start with private CBC school fees and our Makini fees comparison. Every school we have checked is on the fees hub.
