Last reviewed: 31 October 2026

Updated October 2026. The best last-minute KCSE revision is timed practice on the paper you sit next, then marking it against a scheme. In the final days, do one past paper per subject under exam timing, redo only the questions you got wrong, learn command words (state, explain, calculate), and sleep. KCSE 2026 written papers are expected to run from 2 to 20 November 2026 according to the published timetable; check your own timetable from your school.

Are KCSE prediction papers worth it?

Prediction papers are practice papers written by teachers or publishers. Nobody outside KNEC knows the questions. Treat them as extra past papers and never pay for “leaked” papers: they are scams and possessing them can lead to cancelled results (see KCSE exam rules and cancelled results).

Practise by paper online

Each subject on the KCSE revision quizzes page has timed questions with instant marking, and the KCSE hub lists per-paper challenges with a score and rank: start with Maths Paper 1, English Paper 1, Chemistry Paper 1 or see all KCSE paper challenges. Full practice papers with worked answers are in KCSE past papers. Paper dates are in the KCSE 2026 timetable guide.

Frequently asked questions

How do I revise for KCSE in one week?

Do one timed paper a day in timetable order, mark it, and spend the next session only on the questions you got wrong.

How many hours should I study before KCSE?

Quality beats hours. Four to six focused hours a day with breaks, plus full sleep, works better than all-night reading.

Are KCSE leaked papers real?

Papers sold online as leaked are scams. Buying or carrying them is an exam irregularity that can lead to cancelled results.

What should I carry to the KCSE exam room?

Your index number, pens, pencil, ruler, mathematical set and an approved non-programmable calculator. Phones are not allowed in the centre.
